The Back Alley Blues Duo brings together two seasoned musicians with deep roots in authentic blues tradition and a passion for modern innovation. Founded by Mark Richardson and Mike Coleman, this dynamic partnership combines decades of musical experience with proven competition-level artistry.
Mark Richardson handles guitar duties on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, Dobro, and lap steel, while also contributing vocals. His guitar work, including improvisational slide techniques, earned him recognition at the Capital Region Blues Network (CRBN) Regional Blues Challenge. This victory led to his participation in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in 2023. As a longtime CRBN member, Mark has remained connected to the regional blues scene while developing his sound.
Mike Coleman brings four decades of musical expertise to the partnership, anchoring the duo’s sound with his electric bass work while adding depth through his acoustic guitar contributions and vocals. As a…
