Flatt Earth
Not long ago flat-pick master and Capital Region acoustic hero Jay Maloney connected some friends when he introduced Bill Keith-disciple Jonah Bruno to Ben and Chris Lane, aka. The Lane Brothers. The result was Flatt Earth, a moniker honoring the great Lester Flatt. Flatt Earth sets feature lots of bluegrass with original tunes, standards, and the occasional genre bending surprise. Harmonies and banjo rolls abound.
Midnight choir
With melodic and playing techniques drawn from jazz, classical and global traditions, midnight choir delivers brilliantly arranged stringband music that stands out like a cool island in the sea of traditional bluegrass. Jeff Wasbes, Jon Doll and Jacob Ali.
